Research Enquiries

I have a question about:

  • Applying for a graduate research degree or scholarship

For information on applying for graduate research degrees or scholarships in the Faculty, visit MDHS Study and follow the links.

  • Faculty support for research administration

The Research Support & Evaluation team provides support to academic and professional staff across the Faculty in the areas of: Research Strategy & Governance, Research Institute Partnerships, Research Information, Research Training and Research Collaboration & Funding. Working closely with the Associate Deans for Research and Research Training, the team provides advice and support to the Dean and Heads of Schools on the research strategy of the Faculty, with a focus on fostering excellence and impact in research. Staff in the Research Development team work closely with staff in Chancellery and University Services (Academic Services, Business Intelligence and Reporting, and Research, Innovation and Commercialisation) to provide integrated support for our researchers.

If you are a current staff member, more information can be found on the MDHS intranet.

  • Internal closing dates when applying for a grant/fellowship which would be administered by the University of Melbourne

The MDHS Research Support & Evaluation team can provide initial guidance on University of Melbourne submission requirements and closing dates. The Grants team in Research, Innovation and Commercialisation (RIC) is responsible for coordinating the submission of applications to external funding bodies. Information on major funder submission requirements, including internal closing dates can be found on the RIC website.

  • Finding a Research Integrity Advisor

Research Integrity Advisors (RIAs) play an important role in building the culture of research ethics and integrity at the University. RIAs are able to provide advice to any member of the University community who has concerns about the integrity of research. Information on the role and support of RIAs is available on the Office for Research Ethics and Integrity website.

  • Finding help with completing an ethics application

For information on applying for animal, human, gene technology and biosafety ethics approval go to the Office for Research Ethics and Integrity website.

  • Finding a researcher in the Faculty

The Faculty’s researchers are profiled in the University of Melbourne’s searchable Find an Expert database, including contact details, research interests and activities and availability to supervise graduate research study.

  • Faculty support for Diversity & Inclusion

The Faculty is committed to equity and the Diversity & Inclusion portfolio supports staff through advocacy, networks and initiatives to foster a diverse and inclusive workplace where our people can reach their full potential.
