OHS Communique: Apple AC Wall Adapter Exchange

Apple has determined that, in very rare cases, the two prong Apple AC wall plug adapters designed for use in  Australia, New Zealand may break and create a risk of electrical shock if touched. These wall plug adapters shipped from 2003 to 2015 with Mac and certain iOS devices, and were also included in the Apple World Travel Adapter Kit.

Customer safety is always Apple's top priority, and they have voluntarily decided to exchange affected wall plug adapters with a new, redesigned adapter, free of charge.

We have organised with the University Supplier to provide us with the redesigned adapters to exchange with the faulty ones. Alternatively, you can contact Apple directly to arrange an exchange.

Only the removable adapter plug is exchanged. Adapters provided by MDHS can be exchanged at the following locations:

Wednesday 1st June – 12:30pm to 1:00pm

  • Medical Building –  Reception, Ground floor west wing
  • Redmond Barry Building - Level 12, Reception
  • Bio21 – Biochem IT office, Level 2
  • Dental Clinic (723 Swanston St) – Ground Floor

Thursday 2nd June – 12:30pm to 1:00pm

  • Bouverie Street – Level 4, Staff Hub
  • Doherty Building – Level 5, tea room

Thursday 2nd  June – 9:00am to 5:00pm
