I’m Erin, and I’m studying my PhD in the Personality Processes Lab. For my PhD, I’m interested in applying a trait-based approach to study moral exceptionality. The kinds of overarching research questions I could pursue include: Can moral exceptionality be described using broad behavioural, motivational, cognitive, and affective tendencies (i.e., personality traits)? What are the social consequences of different standings on these personality traits? Which underlying processes and/or mechanisms explain individual differences in such personality traits? I find it extremely energising to be immersed in the world of academia each day, where I can combine my love of research (consuming/producing knowledge) with my passion for teaching (sharing knowledge). When I’m not working, you’ll most likely find me messing around on the guitar, riding my bike, or watching Seinfeld.
