Governance

The Melbourne School of Psychological Sciences is one of five graduate schools in the Faculty of Medicine Dentistry and Health Sciences at the University of Melbourne.

As well as complying with the rigorous accreditation standards as set out by the Psychology Board of Australia, the School has a comprehensive and transparent governance structure, with representation from staff and students across a range of thematic areas.

  • AOU Organisational Structure

In collaboration with the Dean of the Melbourne School of Graduate Education (MSGE), the Convenor of the Educational Psychology program, the AOU has undertaken a careful review and subsequently revised its organisational and committee structures and reporting lines to ensure the necessary and appropriate level of academic, financial and administrative control of its postgraduate professional programs, including the Educational Psychology program and the staff who teach into it.

In particular, a new organisational structure has been developed and new committees established to ensure the accountability of, and greater collaboration between all postgraduate professional programs administered by the AOU, including the Educational Psychology program.

The new structure provides the Head of the AOU and the Director of Postgraduate Professional Programs direct oversight of the Educational Psychology program, whilst also ensuring oversight by the Dean of MSGE, as well as reciprocal interactions between the Head of the AOU and the Dean of MSGE.
