My research focuses on stigma surrounding schizophrenia. For my PhD, I am investigating the effect of media representations of schizophrenia, especially those of crime and violence, on the public's cognitions, emotions and behavioural intentions. To guide this work, I draw upon theories and practices of traditional psychological sub-disciplines as well as those from criminology. I am passionate about bringing together these lines of research, for the purposes of understanding and reducing stigma surrounding schizophrenia. Outside of psychology, I enjoy playing guitar, coffee and living in the Dandenong Ranges.
