Dr Hinze Hogendoorn awarded ARC Future Fellowship 2020

Decision Science Hub's Deputy Director, Dr Hinze Hogendoorn, has been announced a recipient of the ARC Future Fellowship Scheme 2020!

We are incredibly thrilled and proud to announce that Dr Hinze Hogendoorn, Deputy Director of the Decision Science Hub and Senior Research Fellow at the Melbourne School of Psychological Sciences, has recently been named a recipient of the 2020 Australian Research Council (ARC) Future Fellowship Scheme. The Future Fellowships scheme, worth $90.5m, supports high-quality innovative and internationally-competitive research projects undertaken by mid-career researchers for the next four years. The $90.5m funding scheme aims to support research projects that expand Australia’s knowledge base and research capacity, therefore, providing economic, commercial, environmental, social and/or cultural benefits for Australia and the world.

Dr Hinze Hogendoorn is the Principal Investigator leading the Timing in Brain and Behaviour Lab at the Melbourne School of Psychological Sciences. The lab investigates how the brain works over time, from a neural, cognitive, and behavioural perspective, using computational methods and neuroimaging techniques which include multivariate EEG decoding, as well as psychophysical and behavioural approaches. The key questions they seek to answer include how time is encoded in the brain, how the brain keeps track of time, and how the brain solves the computational problems that result from the brain itself needing time to process information. Congratulations on a well-deserved award, Hinze! We look forward to seeing more groundbreaking work from you and your TimingLab over the next four years.
