Supervisors: Dr Jason Forte, Dr Simon Cropper and Dr Patrick Goodbourn

Joel is currently studying an MPhil in Psychological Sciences at the University of Melbourne. Joel is investigating the eye movements that are caused when viewing a moving pattern. This research aims to understand whether or not these eye movements rely on the same brain pathways as everyday functional vision. In 2015, Joel completed a Bachelor of Science (Honours) at Swinburne University, as well as a Certificate IV in Mental Health. Joel has been employed as a sessional academic and research assistant at university and has also taught ESL in Spain. For over ten years, Joel has volunteered at a number of mental health organisations, presenting to federal government officials on issues affecting young people around Australia. After completing his MPhil, Joel plans to continue teaching, pursue his strong interest in music, and commence a PhD overseas.
