Over recent years the range of phenomena captured by psychological concepts like prejudice, bullying, trauma and mental disorder appears to have expanded. My research explores individual differences in this concept creep, specifically, the extent to which people endorse narrow versus broad understandings of these concepts. In doing so my goal is to develop a model of concept breadth at the individual level that may inform theorising about the cultural-level dynamics of concept creep. When I'm not working on my PhD I'm hanging out with my three kids and training my dogs - or hanging out with the dogs and training the kids.
