Speaker bio:

iroiseD

Professor Iroise Dumontheil recently joined MSPS. She will present her plans to investigate the development of children and adolescents’ insight into their own thoughts and behaviours, or metacognition, linking it to some of her past research. The project will involve analysis of existing cohort data, data collection in schools, and the use of developmentally appropriate neuroimaging methodology, specifically functional near-infrared spectroscopy, to study the behavioural and neural correlates of the development of metacognition, with a particular focus on mathematical cognition.
