Title: What makes us human? What makes us sick?

Speaker Bio: Dr Luca Cocchi obtained his PhD in Neuroscience at the University of Lausanne and Geneva (Switzerland) in 2007. Following postdoctoral training in leading research institutes, including the Melbourne Neuropsychiatry Centre (The University of Melbourne) and the Queensland Brain Institute (University of Queensland), Luca started his laboratory at QIMR Berghofer in 2018. He is the head of the Clinical Brain Networks group, an honorary A/Prof. at the University of QLD, and the scientific director of the QLD Neurostimulation Centre. Luca also serves as Editor for the medical journal Neuroimage: Clinical. Luca is recognised for his work on brain imaging in health and disease. He has applied novel imaging analyses to identify functional and anatomical brain connectivity underpinning mental health conditions, including schizophrenia, ADHD, and obsessive-compulsive disorders. Luca's work contributes to the conceptualisation of healthy and pathological brain functions emerging from complex brain dynamics unfolding on top of anatomical brain connectivity.
