Professor Marta Garrido Joins ARC Centre of Excellence for Quantum Biotechnology as a Chief Investigator

We are delighted to share that Marta has recently been appointed as a Chief Investigator with the ARC Centre of Excellence for Quantum Biotechnology (QUBIC), an exciting national initiative bringing together experts in neuroscience, physics, and biology to explore how quantum technologies can transform our understanding of living systems.

Marta’s research at the University of Melbourne focuses on how the brain predicts and processes information, integrating computational modelling, neuroimaging, and clinical research. As part of QUBIC, she’ll be working with teams from the School of Physics at The University of Melbourne and the University of Queensland, advancing the application of quantum sensing to non-invasively record magnetic signals from the human brain, a major step toward next-generation tools for neuroscience and mental health research.
