MSPS Awards Night 2025

Thank you to everyone who came along to our 2025 Awards Night event – family, friends, colleagues, sponsors, presenters and volunteers – and to those who celebrated with us online. The Woodward was bursting at the seams, as we welcomed over 150 attendees to join us on Tuesday 6 May.

MC Dr Elise Kalokerinos presents at a podium, with a full audience of prize winners and guests watching.

This year saw many returning presenters – such as our wonderful MC, Dr Elise Kalokerinos – as well as some new faces, including Professor Kristen Pammer. Just two weeks into her tenure as our new Head of School, Professor Pammer provided a warm welcome to the attendees, and highlighted the importance of our sponsors and donors in supporting the advancement of psychological sciences.

Professor Lisa Phillips, Director of Professional Programs and Deputy Head of School, gave an entertaining and insightful look back at her diverse experiences in psychology and clinical training. She also reflected on the challenges faced by clinicians in the mental health sector, and the impact higher education has on both students and society.

Over the course of the evening, we were privileged to hear from multiple prize winners, as they shared a little about their academic journeys. Two of these winners – Gezelle Dali, winner of the ReWire Hines Early Career Research Award, and Grace Van Veenendaal, winner of the Elgin Prize – are profiled on our website.

Once again, congratulations to all of our prize winners, and thank you to everyone who came out in support. A full list of winners is available on the Awards Page or in the program (PDF 978.4 KB), and a recording of the event is available below via Youtube.
