The MSPS Awards and Graduations event brought together completing Graduate Diploma and Graduate Diploma (Advanced) students, our undergraduate and postgraduate award recipients, and our research, teaching and learning, and professional staff award recipients. This was also a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the sponsors and benefactors of their prizes.

Our new Head of School, Professor Rob Hester opened the event, thanking our donors and supporters for their generosity.  Sian Prior, the daughter of Vale Professor Margot Prior AO who sadly passed away in August 2020, delivered a moving occasional address.

Margot Prior was a remarkable person, an outstanding researcher and clinical leader who had a long affiliation with this School. From 1994 until 2002 she was Professor of Psychology in the Department of Psychology and Director of Psychology at the Royal Children's Hospital, and from 2002 onward she was an Honorary Professorial Fellow in the School. Margot made great contributions to MSPS and is missed by her colleagues for her warmth, enthusiasm, intelligence and generosity of spirit.

Our student recipients reflected on their time at MSPS, thanking the teaching staff, family and friends for their support and acknowledging the importance of the skills learned at MSPS as valuable in their careers going forward. The challenges that the year 2020 brought with it were not lost on our staff and students as our speakers reflected on the achievements of our students and researchers.
