Improving the diagnosis and treatment of neurodegenerative disease

Many neurodegenerative diseases are associated with progressive cognitive dysfunction. Our research aims to develop new treatments for neurodegenerative disease as well as new methods for early and accurate diagnosis. With our collaborators at The Alfred Hospital and Monash University, we are currently conducting clinical pharmacological trials in behavioural variant FTD (bvFTD) and progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP). With our collaborators in Neuropsychiatry at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, we are investigating novel biomarkers, including serum/plasma neurofilament light chain (NfL).
