The Future of Work in Psychology

Colloquium

The nature of work in psychology is changing. Psychology researchers and practitioners now work in increasingly diverse areas and occupations and are being asked to meet a range of large-scale challenges once thought to be outside our purview. Academics are beginning to be evaluated on more than their publication track record, with new expectations to have impact and demonstrate benefit. Those working in industry face challenges in the form of needing to balance applied affordances with experimental rigor. And psychology researchers in a range of areas must adapt to meet the new reality of statistical innovations and technological advancements that change the questions we can ask and answers we can give. Join us for an MSPS School Colloquium that discusses these challenges regarding the future of work in psychology — where we’re going and where the limits may be.
