Research Seminar: Creating Videos About Your Research

Abstract

Creating video content about your research has lots of benefits, such as real-world impact, engagement, career progression and new opportunities. But where do you start? What are the top tips for success vs the pitfalls to avoid? What support is available on campus? And is there a way of being on camera that feels authentic and fun, rather than crawl-out-of-your-skin awkward?

Here to answer these questions and many more is Elizabeth Davie (CHDH Coordinator). There will be time for Q & A so bring any and all burning questions.

The Speaker

Elizabeth Davie is the Complex Human Data Hub Coordinator and also an award-winning comedy performer. Throughout her parallel careers in comedy and in communications, Elizabeth has created A LOT of video content, both independently and with RMITV, Channel 31 and University of Melbourne, so she knows how to do things professionally in a studio and DIY on a shoestring budget. She loves using video to tell stories and her experience in comedy has taught her how to make them fun, clear and compelling.
