CSC awarded A$1 million in research grant funding

The Centre is among the recipients of funding from the Tiny Blue Dot Foundation for groundbreaking neuroscientific research.

The Contemplative Studies Centre is thrilled to announce we have been awarded funding from the Tiny Blue Dot Foundation for groundbreaking research related to the science of the "perception box", or the filter of biases, narratives and beliefs through which we perceive our reality. The organisation aims to modify and expand people’s perception boxes for personal growth, greater acceptance of self and others, and overall wellbeing.

Led by Contemplative Studies Centre Deputy Director and principal investigator, Dr Julieta Galante, our research project will explore the impact of regular meditation on health and wellbeing, using innovative methods like "voice diaries" to capture changes in perception. Dr Galante is joined by co-investigators Dr Cate Bailey, Associate Professor Ana Dragojlovic, Dr Cullan Joyce, Associate Professor Nicholas Van Dam (Contemplative Studies Centre), and Dr Deanna Kaplan (Emory University School of Medicine).

The Centre is pleased to be part of this global initiative, contributing to a deeper understanding of how meditation can expand the perception box and improve lives.
