Dr Julieta Galante promoted to Level C: A celebrated milestone in her academic career

We are thrilled to announce the promotion of Dr Julieta Galante, Deputy Director of the Contemplative Studies Centre, to Level C. This well-deserved recognition highlights Dr Galante's exceptional contributions to the fields of mindfulness, meditation and public health.

Dr Galante began her career as a medical doctor, earning her degree from the University of Buenos Aires in 2007. Her passion for public mental health led her to Cardiff University, where she completed her PhD in June 2014. From 2015 to 2022, Dr Galante served as a research associate and NIHR fellow in the Department of Psychiatry at Cambridge University, where she made significant strides in her research.

In August 2022, Dr Galante joined the Melbourne School of Psychological Sciences as the Deputy Director of the Contemplative Studies Centre. Since then, she has been instrumental in advancing research on the intersection of mindfulness, meditation and public health. Her leadership has fostered vital partnerships within the University, across schools and faculties, and with other universities and community stakeholders.
