Grant success for Dr Cate Bailey
Congratulations to Dr Cate Bailey on her recent grant from EuroQol!
Dr Cate Bailey, Senior Research Fellow in Health Economics, was recently successful in securing a EuroQol grant worth €25,000 (AUD41,500) to explore the validity of the EQ Health and Wellbeing (EQ-HWB) instrument in measuring quality-of-life in meditators and non-meditators. EuroQol research funding aims to improve decisions about health and health care throughout the world by developing, promoting and supporting the use of instruments with the widest possible applicability for the measurement and valuation of health.
This multidisciplinary project, encompassing health economics, statistics, psychology and public health, aims to investigate the validity and responsiveness to change of the new EQ-HWB-S instrument, which is used to collect quality-of-life information for economic evaluation. The research trial will evaluate attrition and effects from the Medito meditation app's 4-week online introductory mindfulness program and use longitudinal data to investigate how responsive the EQ-HWB-S is to change over time, compared to other indicators of change.
