Introducing Cate Bailey
Meet Dr Cate Bailey, Health Economist and Public Health Researcher, joining the Contemplative Studies Centre in 2024.
Dr Cate Bailey is a Senior Research Fellow whose research focusses on economic evaluation in the health and social care sectors. Aiming to improve intergenerational outcomes across the life course, Dr Bailey has worked on measurement and valuation of quality-of-life tools and conducted a wide range of studies including on the economic implications of lifestyle interventions during pregnancy, the effect of high-quality early-education on academic outcomes for children experiencing disadvantage, and programs to address child sexual abuse in remote communities.
Cate has post-doctoral degrees in Health Economics, Forensic Psychology, and Applied Statistics. Prior to her move to academia, she worked in Commonwealth and State governments as a senior policy advisor.
A decades long yoga practitioner and member of a Zen meditation group, Cate is thrilled to join the team to share her research expertise towards discovering new knowledge in contemplative studies.
