Deputy Director Julieta Galante promoted to Associate Professor

Congratulations to Associate Professor Julieta Galante!

We are delighted to announce the promotion of our Deputy Director, Dr Julieta Galante, to Level D (Associate Professor). This well‑earned achievement recognises her outstanding contributions to the fields of mindfulness, meditation and public health.

Julieta is a qualified medical doctor specialising in public mental health research, with a research focus on the effectiveness of meditation practices in promoting mental health and wellbeing. Prior to joining the Contemplative Studies Centre, she was a research associate and postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Cambridge.

As Deputy Director, Julieta has played a pivotal role in advancing interdisciplinary research at the intersection of mindfulness, meditation and public health. Her leadership has strengthened collaborative partnerships across the University, between schools and faculties, and with external institutions and community stakeholders, greatly enriching the Centre’s research and impact.
