OP-MEG Workshop 2025

Presentation by Holly Schofield (University of Nottingham): OPM-MEG: The Next Generation

Bio: Holly Schofield is a physicist working on the development and application of human brain imaging. Specifically, her research is focused on the conception, design, implementation and validation of novel hardware, with an emphasis on building high density neuroimaging arrays using quantum enabled magnetic field sensors. She has a dual role, both as a scientific researcher in the Sir Peter Mansfield Imaging Centre at the University of Nottingham, UK, and as a Product Developer at Cerca Magnetics Ltd, a company commercialising OPM-MEG technology. She was originally trained in physics at the University of Nottingham.

Presentation by Dr Tim Tierney (University College London): Getting The Best Out of OPM Data: The Role of Software

Bio: Dr Tierney completed his PhD in medical imaging in 2017. Since then he has worked on the development of the optically pumped magnetometer for emerging Magnetoencephalography applications. He is currently a PI at the department of imaging neuroscience in UCL where he holds a lectureship in neuroscience and a fellowship from the Epilepsy Research Institute.
