World Meditation Survey
This study explores meditation practice, motivation and individual characteristics of meditators in different traditional and cultural contexts.
We are seeking
People who are:
- Over 18 years of age, and
- Interested in meditation or have been meditating regularly.
What will I be asked to do?
As part of this study, we will ask you to complete a questionnaire on several occasions. First, right now, and then again after 6 and 12 months. There are two versions of the survey:
- Short Survey (10–15 minutes): A concise overview of your contemplative practice and experiences. Ideal if you have limited time but still want to contribute to this exciting research.
- Deep Reflective Session (40–50 minutes): An in-depth reflection on your contemplative journey, motivation and personal values. Suitable for experienced practitioners and everyone willing to provide detailed insights.
During each survey, you can always pause and resume it later.
Compensation
Participants who complete the Deep Reflective Session in all three waves can opt to receive compensation as a thank-you for their contribution. After completing the final survey, you can receive a personal evaluation of various dimensions of your personality and participate in a lottery draw. We are giving away 60 gift cards worth €100, which you can redeem personally or donate to your meditation community.
In the short version of the study, there is no further compensation for your participation. We deeply appreciate your time and effort in supporting this important research.
